The 2-phase soft starter VersiStart II plus (38 – 105A) – the robust and efficient soft start device with high maximum switching frequency
PETER electronic expands its range of soft starters with the two-phase controlled VersiStart II plus soft starter (38–105 A). The device combines reliable starting and stopping characteristics with comprehensive protection functions and a particularly robust design.
Designed for motor outputs from 18.5 to 55 kW, the soft starter provides a high degree of flexibility for a wide range of applications. Integrated heat-sink temperature monitoring complements the extensive motor and system protection functions.
Flexible two-phase soft starter for demanding applications
The VersiStart II plus has been developed to handle demanding soft-start and soft-stop processes. Typical applications include pumps, fans, packaging machinery, conveyor systems, and gate and door drives.
By reducing starting current and torque, the soft starter helps minimise electrical and mechanical stress on the motor and connected equipment during start-up. This can reduce component wear and contribute to reliable, long-lasting system operation.
The integrated adjustment controls allow the starting and stopping behaviour to be adapted to the requirements of each application. Starting time, stopping time and initial voltage can be configured individually, enabling the operating characteristics to be matched precisely to the motor and system.
Another important advantage of the VersiStart II plus (38–105 A) is its high permissible starting frequency. This allows several starting cycles to be performed reliably even within short time intervals.
A range of integrated protection and diagnostic functions supports safe operation. Thermal models are calculated continuously so that the associated motor can be switched off automatically and the circuit interrupted in the event of an overload. The device also detects conditions such as undervoltage in the electronic supply, overheating, phase faults and firing faults.
Compact design with comprehensive functionality
Despite its extensive range of functions, the VersiStart II plus features a space-saving design. The 38–65 A versions measure only 55 × 179 × 165 mm (width × depth × height). The 80–105 A models have dimensions of 81 × 222 × 180 mm (width × depth × height).
The soft starter can be integrated quickly and economically into existing control cabinets. Devices rated from 38 to 65 A can be snapped onto a 35 mm DIN rail. The 80–105 A versions are suitable for installation on 35 mm and 75 mm DIN rails. Alternatively, all models can be mounted directly using screws.
