The 2-phase soft starter VersiStart II plus (38 - 105A) – the robust and efficient soft start device with high maximum switching frequency

With the 2-phased soft starter VersiStart II plus (38 - 105A), PETER electronic offers a new soft start device with two-phase control: It combines optimal starting and stopping properties with high-quality protective functions in a particularly robust housing.

In addition, the very robust soft starter with 2-phase control for the power range 18.5 to 55 kW impresses with its high level of flexibility. Last but not least, the robust soft starter features comprehensive motor protection functions through heat sink temperature monitoring.

2-phase controlled soft starter with high flexibility and comprehensive features

The 2-phase soft starter VersiStart II plus (38 - 105A) was developed to master all demanding soft start and stop situations. The most common areas of application include pumps, fans, packaging machines, conveyor belts and gate and door drives. The current and torque reductions achieved during startup protect the motor from both an electrical and mechanical perspective and ensure long-lasting system operation. The robust soft starter is extremely flexible and displays ideal, application-oriented behavior in all operating states. The starting and stopping behavior can be individually configured using the settings controller, including entering the starting voltage.

The main advantages of the 2-phase soft starter VersiStart II plus (38 - 105A) include the high maximum starting frequency, which allows multiple starting cycles to be carried out without any problems, even within a very short period of time. The motor is safeguarded by the comprehensive, integrated protective functions. Through permanent calculations of thermal images, the associated motor can be automatically switched off and the circuit is interrupted in overload phases to ensure maximum safety for the motor and soft starter. Additional, the soft starter takes on a number of other useful protection tasks, such as the diagnosis of undervoltage in the electronic supply, overheating, phase and ignition errors and other problems.

Soft starter with the "plus"

Despite comprehensive features and performance, the 2-phase soft starter VersiStart II plus (38 - 65A) comes with a compact housing of just 55 x 179 x 165 mm (width/depth/height) and the soft starter VersiStart II plus (80 - 105A) with 81 x 222 x 180 mm (width/depth/height).

Thanks to the possibility of rail mounting in accordance with the DIN standard, the new soft starter plus from PETER electronic can be easily integrated into existing control cabinets with minimal investment. The simple installation is done by snapping onto a 35 mm standard rail (38-65A devices), 35 mm and 75 mm standard rail (80-105A devices). Alternatively, the unit can be mounted directly using screws.
