PETER electronic has expanded its VersiStart II plus family of 2-phase soft starters with two new sizes. This expands the proven series of soft starters, known for its high maximum switching frequencies, to a continuous range of 6A to 105A.
These soft starters are renowned for their optimal starting and stopping characteristics, high-quality protection features, and a particularly robust housing. The product family offers high flexibility for power ranges from 3 to 55 kW.

The VersiStart II plus series (6–105A) impresses with comprehensive motor protection functions and a high maximum starting frequency. This allows users to perform multiple starting cycles in a very short time. The motor is protected by comprehensive, integrated protection functions, and the 38–105A models even offer heat sink temperature monitoring.

Through continuous calculations of thermal images, the associated motor can be automatically switched off and the circuit interrupted during overload phases to ensure maximum safety for both the motor and the soft starter.
Furthermore, the VersiStart II plus soft starter (38–105 A) performs a number of other useful protective functions, such as diagnosing undervoltage in the electronic supply, overheating, phase and ignition faults, and other problems.
Naturally, the smaller VersiStart II plus soft starters feature a compact design and can be easily snapped onto a 35 mm DIN rail (6–65 A). The higher-power VersiStart II plus soft starter models (80–105 A) can be mounted on 35 mm or 75 mm DIN rails, or directly with screws.
The smaller devices also impress with their ease of commissioning and operation – "plug and play" for quick integration into existing control cabinets or custom enclosures.

The current and torque reductions achieved during startup protect the motor from both an electrical and mechanical perspective, ensuring long-lasting system operation. This robust soft starter is extremely flexible and offers ideal, application-oriented performance in all operating conditions. The starting and stopping behavior can be individually configured via the adjustment controls, including setting the starting voltage.
