The C2 series - 3-phase AC drive with powerful functions and high efficiency
With the AC drives of the VersiDrive i C2 series, PETER Electronic offers a highly efficient solution for all types of drive applications. All devices are designed for connection to a 3-phase motor. For the power range 0.75 to 75 kW the devices are available with a supply voltage of 230 V, for the power range 0.75 to 450 kW with a supply voltage of 400 V. The drives have high-precision speed, torque and position control for synchronous and asynchronous motors with and without pulse generators. Future-oriented properties such as modular structure, fast response behavior, torque control over 4 quadrants with limitation, integrated PLC function, fast data exchange, CANopen master/slave expansion and two RJ45 communication connections guarantee a high level of flexibility and compatibility. Individually assignable digital inputs and a start-up curve that can be freely adjusted via intermediate points, enable a precise cut to the respective requirements. Slots for additionally available pulse generator boards, I/O expansion boards, relay boards, external 24 V power supply and communication boards complete the range of functions.
Numerous integral functions reduce costs and outlay
Macros preconfigured for special industrial applications can be called up directly, which saves time and costs in engineering. For example, applications for compressors, fans, pumps and air conditioning units are available that still allow specific adjustments of individual parameters to the project - but these adjustments are in no relation to the effort of a complete reconfiguration. In addition, the parameters combined in groups enable function-related setting of the values. The VersiDrive i C2 AC drive is designed in such a way that it is ideally suited for use in a wide variety of environments. In addition to the integrated DC link choke for suppressing harmonics, the devices have a switchable, integrated EMC filter, a standard-compliant coating of the circuit boards, galvanic separation of the electronic components of the AC drive from the cooling system for reduced heat generation and certification in accordance with all current standards.
Another important feature is personal safety thanks to the integrated STO safety function for safe torque switch-off, so that there is no need for additional contactors for external safety devices. The protection of the drive against mechanical damage is not neglected by PETER Electronic. This is the purpose of braking energy recovery, which brakes the motor in a controlled manner in the event of a power failure until it comes to a standstill. If the mains voltage is available again during the braking process, the motor accelerates again to the setpoint frequency.
Sociable with the network connection
The AC drives of the VersiDrive i C2 series can be comfortably monitored and controlled via numerous networks. Option cards are available for the most important networks and transmission protocols such as Modbus® / RTU, Modbus® / TCP, Profibus, CANopen, DeviceNet®, EtherNet / IP. Up to 8 slaves can be controlled via the CANopen master function. By default, Modbus communication is supported via the RJ45 connections.
Comfortable platform for the management of drive systems
PETER Electronic provides download software, which is used for quick commissioning, parameter editing and monitoring of ongoing operations, for example with a real-time oscilloscope, trend curves, etc. and offers the user a complete operating platform for easy control and monitoring via a PC.
A removable LCD control unit with a 3-line display provides an optimal overview directly on the device. It is equipped with a real-time clock, is easy and intuitive to use and also enables various alteration and monitoring functions. With the copy function, parameter settings can be saved in the control unit and easily transferred to another AC drive. Further features are the hot-plug capability as well as the protection against ingress of dust and water guaranteed by the protection class IP66. If the AC drive is installed in a control cabinet, the control unit can be easily installed from the outside on the door of the cabinet and connected to the frequency converter via a cable so that everything is always in view.
